Pure Grace

Try as they might, humanity can never hurt the fire by burning it;
Cannot dampen the spirit of water by wetting it.

Stones can hammer at gold, but it will not be tarnished;
Nails can scrape the surface of diamond, but it will not be scratched.

Like this, pure grace can never be disgraced.
God can elevate man, but man can never reduce God.

Today, the scandal is over. Nithyananda is free to give the world the gift He has brought us.

Cherish Those Who Are Born to Awaken Humanity; We Need Them

When a master comes to the planet with a groundbreaking, innovative, inspiring, and truthful message, fear is born in the minds of the powerful and corrupt. Those who dedicate their lives to accumulating status and wealth in the outer world depend on mass exploitation; masters who liberate the masses then become their enemy.

There are countless cases of spiritual teachers being killed for political reasons by malicious government officials. The authorities first implicate the master in some sort of a crime to turn the people against their savior, then strike when public anger has built up. This is what happened to Jesus in his 33rd year; likewise, Vivekananda was poisoned, Osho was persecuted, Krishna shot with a poison arrow. At this crucial time in world history, a truly make-or-break point in our civilization and the continuation of our world, we MUST listen to those who are connected with existential, universal consciousness.

Nithyananda is the master, the avatar, the messenger of our age. Without any karmic obligation to be here, He has come only to liberate us. As Jesus took birth and was hailed the son of God, Nithyananda has come, and those of us blessed to recognize Him see He is the return of Krishna, of Jesus, of Mohammed... And we, His devotees, are not the only ones who see His truth: the powers in charge of India are afraid. The powers in charge of India, who have converted to political Christianity, fear a mass return to the Vedic ways- namely, life lived for the sake of joy, love, peace and enlightenment. An enlightened society is not a society of slaves, but a society of individuals. If the office-based workforce becomes enlightened, they will no longer stand for the drudgery and depression of a lifestyle that goes against basic human intelligence- which is to do what feels right, not what is forced. If the masses become enlightened, each man and woman will live for his or her own truth, his or her own bliss, his or her own connection to spirituality. A mass with herd mentality can be forced to work in cubicles and live in box apartments, but a mass of individuals expressing their own selves can never be swayed by false promises of "lifestyle" and elitism.

In March of this year, an intense, elaborate and unimaginably expensive attack was launched against Nithyananda by opposing forces. A video of "Him" supposedly cuddling in bed with a female devotee was leaked to the media, and an onslaught of false accusations were brought forth against Him. In a matter of hours, nearly every television channed, national newspaper, web site in India was flooded with the video, and defamatory reports. The idea was to destroy Nithyananda's reputation and prevent the enlightenment of the masses. As a result, devotees of the master were beaten, some trespassers even attempted to murder disciples on the ashram by locking them in a building and setting it on fire by throwing molotov cocktails. Oddly, the media was there a few minutes before the attacks, ready to film the "spontaneous" destruction. In order to launch such a huge media campaign, millions are needed.

After being imprisoned for more than fifty days in terrible conditions (without a bed or even a cot throughout the investigation, eight days without food) Nithyananda was finally let out on bail when not a single witness came out against Him. Every single charge filed was unsubstantiated, and no evidence existed on any allegation. The video- morphed with modern technology- was not even real.

Since then, Nithyananda has beenm given an honorary doctorate degree from Colombia University, and was garlanded by a high spiritual leader of Tamil Nadu. (The chief priest of the Arunachaleshwara Temple, Tiruvanamalai.)

Even still, He is out only on bail. For some unfathomable reason, the final verdict is still not in. He was illegally arrested, His people were abused and burned, He was starved and forced to sleep on a cold, wet jail cell floor...  over six months have gone by with no evidence, no witnesses, no proof of any kind, not even a name of a potential victim... nothing. If this is in any way striking a chord with you, just pay attention to Nithyananda. Watch His YouTube videos, see how it makes you feel, and if you have a feeling that what He is offering the world is worth preserving, send your thoughts to the India Justice Department.

Blissful Dance of Kali

Another day, another blessing. Since arriving at the ashram on August 24th, every moment here has been better than the moment before; and when the very first moment here was bliss, just imagine the ecstasy I'm feeling now! (Swamiji says that as we rise in love, we move from bliss to bliss to bliss, and wow, is He ever right! Be assured, it's not just me; everyone I've spoken to at the ashram is simply buzzing beyond happiness!) It's such a joy to know the air we breathe is sacred; the ground is holy; the people are blessed; and the Master is Everything. I can't imagine a greater happening in life than the happening of just being here.

That said, my intention for this blog is to share the deep inspiration and gratitude I'm feeling as a result of the spiritual experiences I'm having with Nithyananda. Mysticism has long been my passion, so it brings me great joy to share this! SO much has been happening, it's hard to choose what to write and what to not write... so, I'll start with my most recent moment of excitement.

Two days ago, something happened that completely changed my self-perception. It started with the meditation Swamiji led us through in our morning session. He told us to meditate on Nothingness. Not even to use the words, "there is nothing," or "nothingness," but to go into the experience of nothingness. It was instantly powerful, and gave me a very strong deja-vu; a strong flashback to a time in my youth when I had experienced a similar meditative state.

At the age of fourteen, I awoke in the night with an urge to meditate. So, I sat up, shut the black-out blinds and my windows so that no streetlight could enter my room, pulled a blanket over my head, and repeatedly told myself that there was nothing but darkness. I had previously been afraid of the dark, and this was an attempt to face the fear. Eventually, both the words 'nothing' and 'darkness' subsided, and the true void was encompassed me. From the dark depths of that void, a face emerged directly in front of mine, as if I was looking into a mirror within my head. It was a beautiful woman's face; completely black against the black background, her features only made visible by a dim glow. (The way someone's features would be visible in a pitch-black room, if they held a dull flashlight under their chin.) She gazed into me, and I into her, without blinking or hesitating. Slowly, very slowly, she drifted backwards. When she was at enough of a distance for me to see her body, I saw that she had four arms and effervescent skulls floating as a halo around her. While the vision lasted, I was not afraid, or impressed; just passively aware. Only when I returned to my normal state, fear set in. I knew I had seen someone inside my head, and thought perhaps I had become possessed; that if she and I were both present in that space that had seemed infinite, yet it was with my eyes closed, then that infinite space must have been both within me and outside, and my skull nothing more than one of the skulls in her aura.

Years later, while going to a fine art university, I opened my textbook to a chapter about devotional art. I was struck immediately by an image of Kali- looking exactly as I had seen her. (The only difference was that in my vision, she had a halo of skulls; in the painting, she wore them as a necklace.) When I read the caption, that Kali is an aspect of the divine mother who removes the ego, I knew instantly that the vision was not a curse or a possession, but a blessing. From that moment, I understood that Hindu Gods weren't just stories, but real beings who directly act in our lives. Since I had seen her without knowing anything about her, or Hinduism, the truth of the vision was undeniable for me.

Anyways, while doing the meditation on nothingness with Swamiji, I felt Kali's presence. When the meditation session ended, I started walking towards a group at the back of the meditation hall who organize the ashram night-life. Every night, we're given something of an open stage to perform in front of Swamiji- singing, playing instruments, telling jokes, acting. Two nights before, I had been a part of a Krishna skit. I was walking over to the group to tell them that this time, someone new should have a chance to act, but the Maharaj who was directing said, "We're doing the dance of Shiva's wedding procession... and you'll be Kali."

One year ago, I was the girl who didn't dance. At any party, no matter who I was with, and what we were doing, if a dance started, I ran to hide. Only at LBE (Life Bliss Engineering at the Nithyananda Ashram) last year did I start to dance and enjoy it. But that was dancing without anyone watching; this would be different- on-stage in front of a crowd of 500+ people, and Swamiji... I was afraid I wouldn't do justice to Kali. She's strong, intense, fierce...  The choreography taught included quick stomping foot motions, while holding a trishool. (Shiva's weapon of choice, like a trident.) We did two rehearsals, then went on to perform, and I still wasn't doing the movements properly...

Instead of doing the dance on a stage, we were informed that Swamiji was in a boat on the water. The program participants sat on steps at the water's edge, watching His boat. Spontaneously, we were asked to go to the water and do the dance there. Amazingly, I was calm, not even nervous at all. I just completely surrendered the dance, thinking that if it turns out well, then great; and if I botched the job and made a fool of myself, that would be perfect, too, because that would mean my karma of embarrassment was being cleansed. (Any emotion that arises in the presence of a living avatar leads to liberation.)

When we walked down an isolated side stairway to the water, the mood changed from "not nervous" to "absolutely thrilled." I got so excited to be there, standing in a red sari, covered in jewels from the temple, hair messed in wild knots, and face covered in intense make-up. (Kali's eyes are rimmed in dark blue, her lips and tongue both deep red...) When Swamiji's boat rounded the corner and He saw the group of us standing, His face lit up! (The other dancers portrayed Shiva, the gunas, Nandi, etc.) He motioned us to come closer to Him, then around to the other side, where we did the performance.

Awaiting my turn, I watched the other dancers, and the moment  of my cue, I froze. Nothing- I forgot the steps, I forgot where to enter the stage... I bulged out my eyes like Kali, and stuck out my tongue, and slowly walked to the center of the dancers... a loud roar of applause, and the dance just happened. I don't remember it, but others tell me I went down into a deep Chandra Namaskar pose, and started to jump like that, while rhythmically waving the trishool over my head, and maintaining Kali's facial expression. Not the choreography I was taught, but wow- the feedback afterwards was incredible. (Someone said he heard Swamiji say, "Oh! It's Kali!" And at the end, he applauded, and said we all did a great job.)

Since that night, people have been calling me Kali, and it's so surreal. I'm being constantly reminded of the first Hindu deity I met, the dark mother herself, and it's such bliss. Playing her in front of a living avatar, my beloved Swamiji, was the ultimate experience. From this point on, no matter what happens in my life, I'll be fulfilled.

Anyhow, dear readers... I'll be in touch! In the mean time, check out the official Inner Awakening blog, at www.innerawakening.org for ashram updates.

In love and Nithyananda,
Sudevi

Physical Proof of Cosmic Divinity: Osho Gives the World a Glimpse of Nithyananda

“What we call love is really a whole spectrum of relating, reaching from the earth to the sky. At the most earthy level, love is sexual attraction. Many of us remain stuck there, because our conditioning has burdened our sexuality with all kinds of expectations and repressions. Actually the biggest ‘problem’ with sexual love is that it never lasts. Only if we accept this fact can we then really celebrate it for what it is - welcoming it’s happening, and say good-bye with gratitude when it’s not. Then as we mature, we can begin to experience the love that exists beyond sexuality and honors the unique individuality of the other. We begin to understand that our partner often functions as a mirror, reflecting unseen aspects of our deeper self and supporting us to become whole. This love is based on freedom, not expectation or need. Its wings take us higher and higher towards the universal love that experiences all as one.” Osho
The greatest blessing anyone can receive is the connection to a living enlightened master, which alone can take them into the realm of the highest Love. Throughout the ages, radiant beings have come to Earth to awaken their full potential and break the mould of societally conditioned human life. Then, rather than retire into meditative obscurity, they give the world the immense gifts of wisdom, technique and initiation, guiding others to reach the same state they themselves enjoy. These beings are true sages, and through their egoless actions, opportunity is created for the elevation of human consciousness. Masters are embodied representatives of the intelligent cosmic energy; they are literal embodiments of God.
While the greatest blessing is to have a loving connection to one such being, the greatest suffering is to miss that opportunity. The problem is, many don’t even realize they are missing it. They may hear word of a master, and say, “Yes, this man is wise. But I’m not a seeker, I have a religion already.” Their suffering is a placid quality, where they cannot relate to the concept of God in everything, and life is a dull collection of entertainments and entanglements. They are conditioned to believe God can exist only within the context of their religion. They go on living their ordinary life, waiting for death to take them to spirituality, Heaven, without so much as a thought to live as if Heaven is on Earth. Often, a Christian laments living in the now and not in the time of Jesus, wanting nothing more than to hold his hand; a Vaishnavite yearns to dance with the gopis around Krishna. But instead of seeking someone like Jesus or Krishna today, they miss.
Then there are those who read the life story of a Master, form a strong bond, then discover that Master is no longer living. They wish desperately to meet Him, and feel deep disappointment. “If only I had lived a hundred years earlier, I could have met Yogananda.” “Had I but known Ramakrishna, I could have taken His initiation.” This group may see a living master, and initially feel a conflict. The updated master walks and talks differently than the one to whom they connected; or practices a different style of yoga. Or, they may question whether or not this newly found master is truly enlightened.
For the very lucky, the intense seekers who will not accept a life lived without inner world transformation, their prayer of deep yearning for a darshan (sight of the divine) will meet with an answer. To whomsoever they pray with total love, that is who will appear before them. Jesus, Krishna, Babaji, Sai Baba, Osho. When this ascended master appears, He will give a blessing, and a message.
Within the sanga (sacred community) around Paramahamsa Nithyananda, there are countless devotees who have experienced this beautiful phenomena of mystical darshan: apparitions and dreams of their ishta devatas and satgurus. (Revered Gods and beloved spiritual teachers, respectively.) There is a common thread running through all of these experiences: the Masters in the dreams have all clearly given the message to follow Nithyananda. For someone with deep bhakti, (devotion) any word spoken by the object of their affection is a blessing, and any task given a sacred quest to fulfill. For them, the moment Babaji says “Nithyananda is the answer to your prayer,” the seeking is over, and He becomes their life. If Sai Baba appears in a dream holding a picture of Nithyananda, and the following day, the devotee sees Nithyananda’s photo, it’s another done deal. His sanctity is henceforth unquestioned. That is the power of personal experience.
But for some, the desire to reach enlightenment is there, as is the pull towards Nithyananda, but for whatever reason, they have not yet experienced a solid, unquestionable event that seals forever-more their belief in His divinity. Some question still remains; some doubt. They may hear a hundred stories of how other devotees were led to the Master, but if they cannot relate to these experiences, a thousand testimonials will make no difference. For them, solid proof and facts are needed. Swamiji (meaning “respected one who has reached His full potential,” by which Nithyananda can be addressed) is working with a medical team to prove scientifically that His meditation techniques lead towards higher consciousness, by charting the awakening of the non-mechanical parts of the brain. As more and more evidence comes in, society will understand the unique benefits to being around Him. Specifically, those who are looking for guaranteed life solutions to improve their lives physically and mentally.
As for the other group, who may or may not be concerned with such life solutions, but who yearn for the highest states of conscious truth? And those who feel a devotion for another religion, or another master? It’s time for them to hear the full volume clarion call sent out from existence to follow Nithyananda! He is not just an enlightened master, he is a living avatar. A master is someone who has finished off all their karma and reached enlightenment, who then develops a unique set of instructions to relay the same enlightenment on their followers. An Avatar is someone who has been a master already, and comes into life with no karma to work out, but a mission to realize. When such a being comes to the planet, the universe celebrates the happening, and takes care that all of humanity has the chance to be around Him. This is why so many have visions and dreams of other masters leading them to Him; this is why so many dissolve in tears upon seeing His face, and this is why those who have found Him feel such a strong drive to share Him with everyone they know.
Osho is one of the most active ascended master who leads disciples to Nithyananda Swamiji. Before leaving His body, a devotee asked Him what to do after his death. Osho said, “Find the youngest living enlightened master, and follow Him.” (In His 33rd year, Swamiji is that.) Osho has also appeared in his devotees dreams, guiding them to the one He knows can truly give them the full experience of self. One who can take them beyond the level of ordinary love that is held by conditioning, to the highest love that sees All as One. Nithyananda.
Now, for the physical proof:
In the nineteen seventies, a close disciple of Osho’s, an Australian lady named Ma Deva Padma, set to the task of creating a beautiful set of Tarot Cards. She was drawn to create images for a deck that would go beyond predicting the future, inspiring the reader to live a Zen life. Since many of the western seekers who are drawn to mysticism and divination are also open to the higher truths given by Osho, the deck has gone on to be one of the most popular on the market. First published in 1985, Osho Zen Tarot: The Transcendental Game of Zen, is now an industry standard. It includes 79 cards, each with an accompanying message by Osho.
The sixth card, pictured at the top of this article, is called The Lovers. It carries one of the strongest messages in the deck (Osho’s quote, directly beneath the image). Beyond that, The Lovers card appears to be solid proof of Nithyananda’s sacred mission. When an avatar happens, signs abound pointing the way to the sacred one. This card is can be seen as one of Nithyananda’s sign posts. If you look at the man pictured in the upper left portion of the card (the masculine half of the divine couple) you will see that he bears a striking resemblance to Swamiji.
Beyond that, an ancient Vedic symbol called the Sri Chakra is drawn in white in the center of the card. When Swamiji was a young boy, he sat meditating in a South Indian temple, and had a vision of this very symbol. The vision was so clear to him that he immediately took a copper plate and etched onto it the sacred representation of Hindu sanctity. Now this symbol can be found all over His organization- in His biographical material, on posters, and etched into energizing copper plates for sale in the gift shop. To those who have followed Swamiji for a while, the symbol is unanimous with His life story.
Recently, I was in touch with Ma Deva Padma, the artist behind the deck and this miraculous card, to find out whether she had used any references or models for the work. Very beautifully, she shared the story of her creative process. Ma Padma says, “The art for the Osho Zen Tarot was created while I lived in India in the Commune in Pune. My studio was above the Master's bedroom and for much of those years I created in silence and flow. No pictures of other people were used in the art. Each card was born out of my meditation and evening discourses.”
Just the two amazing apparitions of His face and the Sri Chakra on the card are enough to qualify a miracle, but the third undeniable similarity between this card and Swamiji is the very message given by Osho to accompany it. Swamiji has told us time and time again that sexual love is ordinary love. He has continuously told us to drop our attention need, and let go of our attachments, so that we can reach the higher state of universal love. While introducing His powerful kundalini awakening meditation, He says, “Let me now take you beyond the ordinary love that exists based on sexual attraction, to the highest love, that sees All as One.” For the hundreds of us who have experienced spontaneous kundalini awakenings after His initiation, it will come as no surprise at all to see that Osho has given solid, verifiable evidence that Swamiji is, in fact, who He says He is. He is the true Lover; He reflects the deepest aspects of our selves, and leads us to our highest potential. He says Tatvamasi (“you are that”) bringing the experience of All as One.
Keep your eyes peeled, your ears perked, and your heart open for the signs pointing you towards the truth, towards Nithyananda.
With love and respect,
Ma Nithya Sudevi
If you have received this message, the call is for you, and the call is now. Don’t miss this master. It’s not only a once in a lifetime opportunity to be near a living Avatar; it’s a once in a jenma opportunity. (Vedic cycle of time equivalent to millenia.) Whether you are a Buddhist who has longed to be with Buddha; a Christian who yearns for Jesus; an Islamic who craves to hear the truth directly from the mouth of Mohammed; or any other type of seeker, do justice to your lifetime, and become a part of this living history.
On a personal note, it was Babaji who led me to Nithyananda, and looking back, I can say that is the day my life truly began. Coming to the ashram in India was the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. I attended a program called Inner Awakening, a transformational retreat that prepares the participant to live enlightenment by cultivating a yogic body and a Vedic mind. The clarity that has now come to me, in every moment of every day, is worth infinitely more than what I paid to attend the program. Truly, you can’t put a price on a new consciousness happening in the presence of an Avatar.
Swamiji says that with each individual raising their consciousness, the collective consciousness of the planet is elevated. Invest in your transformation, and in the collective elevation of humanity. Let yourself experience the Inner Awakening, happening December 1st to 21st, 2010, in Nithyananda’s ashram near Bidadi, Bangaluru, India.

Paramahamsa Nithyananda is an Avatar!

James Cameron's 3d epic, Avatar, caused a huge buzz in the film industry. The world of spirituality was inspired by Jeffrey Armstrong's book Teachings of the Avatar. And, of course, a wild frenzy has sweept many youngsters with Avatar: The Last Airbender. It seems that everywhere we look, the "A" word is creating a commotion. So, you can imagine the loud uproar of applause a few mornings ago when Paramahamsa Nithyananda, an enlightened master from South India, delivered a morning message to his followers, stating, "The title of my book has been set: Autobiography of an Avatar!"

It's no small joke for a master to proclaim His Avataric mission live on web cam, in front of hundreds of people; an avatar is a living incarnation of the highest divine energy. A being who has already gone beyond all the limitations of earthly life, who is bound by no karma, yet decides to take on a human birth out of sheer compassion for humanity. An avatar is someone who shakes the very foundations of society, creating the space for the necessary growth and expansion of a civilization. At pivotal times in Earth's history, we have known avatars to incarnate, spreading the good news, awakening us to the truth. Jesus, Mohammed, Moses, Krishna, Buddha. These figures are enlightened masters, and also much more. A master is someone who exhausts all their karma and realizes the truth, then teaches others to do the same.
Avatars are masters who have been masters before, they come back without any karma, often knowing their entire life that they have something of great importance to share with the world. They go through trials and triumphs, all in the name of realization, and all with the aim to awaken humanity. Their life stories then become our world culture.

That said, Nithyananda's mission is a great one! His plan is to raise the collective consciousness of the planet to a higher state; a state that goes beyond the limitations of the mind and into a space of pure eternal bliss. (Nithya Ananda means Eternal Bliss.) By reviving the ancient Vedic culture, and creating beautiful transformation in individual lives, He is paving the way for a smooth shift into higher consciousness, which is coming in 2012. His message to humanity is to become comfortable in the spaces between thoughts, meditate, and practice enlightenment techniques. This way, when our consciousness is raised, it will take us into the state of bliss. Otherwise, if we continue to live with addictions, clinging to entertainment and consumerism, and ignoring the consciousness within us that is self-fulfilling, the shift will lead only to depression.

Nithyananda is my gurudeva, my beloved master. In this blog, I'll share with you the mystical story of how I came to find Him, and how practicing His great truths continues to lead me to deeper and deeper experiences of myself.

Until next time, let us all do as Nithyananda blesses us to do:
Live and Radiate Enlightenment
